Student Activities

HW Help

With the help of DOE teachers, Students receive hw help and/or tutoring on any or all subjects if needed.


Student will be introduced to several topics regarding computer literacy. This includes but is not limited to macbook applications, animation, microsoft office tools, etc.


Students are introduced to several artists, topics and styles of art as they recreate pieces.


Through the use of hands-on experiments, students will incorporate different levels of science, technology. engineering and math into the program.


Provide students with recreational activities with a focus on team building, nutrition and statistics.

Beacon Basketball

Girls, JV & Varsity teams are involved in Staten Island and at times borough-wide competitions. Member must try-out and meet academic standards.

Life Skills/ Youth Council

With the help of our OASAS Counselor, our team is comprised of future leaders looking to make changes in their personal lives, school and community, tackling on issues such as drug abuse, bullying, and community service projects. Our students use their voices to spread positive messages and create unity within the Beacon program.


Students interested in learning dance routines and showcase their creativity with the help of our skilled staff members.


Our students are provided with knowledge and curriculum based lessons on basic journalism, outlines, research and interviewing. Students and staff generate a monthly newsletter filled with current and future events happening in the Beacon program.

Game Room


Students currently enrolled in the 7th grade receive prep for the specialized high schools admissions test. Must apply in November. Sessions are held on Saturdays.

Adult Activities are provided through our night center.
Zumba- Tuesday and Thursday at 7:30pm
Knitting- Wednesdays @ 6pm
Basic Computers- TBD
