ABC Soccer

On weekly basis every Monday participants of various ages are able to compete and practice soccer in the PS 18 gymnasium with Coach Vincent Peña. Outside of the PS 18 Beacon Center members of the ABC Soccer family also travel throughout the 5 borough playing games against other teams.

Beat The Streets Wrestling

Students between the 4th and 8th grades are afforded the opportunity to train and learn the basics of collegiate wrestling in the PS 18 auditorium. During the fall wrestlers also travel around New York City competing in various tournaments against other teams.

Flag Football

Students from the 4th grade through junior high school participate in the sport of flag football on a competitive basis throughout the city of New York. Additionally, members of the group practice and learn the basic skills of the sport typically in Corporal Larry Thompson Park. Students are coached and supervised by members of the PS 18 and Parks Department staff alike.

Old School Basketball

Twice a week on Wednesdays and Saturdays a 25 year old+ group of basketball players engage in very competitive pick up games in the PS 18 gymnasium. This activity is a great way for older participants to jump on to the court and get a significant workout that is for the experienced basketball player.

Pink Diamonds

Members of the Pink Diamonds learn primarily step moves as well as dance while enhancing their cooperative learning among other things. With Step Mistress Alicia Harrison and Pink Diamonds alumni, the Pink Diamonds travel to various locations in the tri-state area competing in both shows and competitions. The team practices on Tuesdays as well as Thursdays.

Special Olympics Basketball

Special needs students of all ages meet in the PS 18 gymnasium to play basketball in a competitive and non-competitive setting under the tutelage of Coach Settles. Students learn skills that include but are not limited to shooting, passing, rebounding, and play making every Saturday.
