Program Director at our South Beach Cornerstone location
UAU has an exciting and rewarding career opportunity for a Program Director at our South Beach cornerstone location. We are seeking an individual who enjoys a challenge and is passionate about investing him or herself in the community and having a positive impact on the participants and community we serve. The Program Director is responsible for planning the delivery of the overall program and its activities in accordance with the mission and goals of the organization. The Program Director oversees program staff, operations, services and implementation of programs and operational processes including, but not limited to, monitoring program budget, conducting regular meetings, developing new initiatives and developing and maintaining professional relationships. Program participants range in age from school age to adult. The ability to work with all ages, demographics and individuals with diverse backgrounds is essential for the success of our programs.
Successful candidates must be flexible, have strong judgement and problem-solving skills, creativity, and exceptional interpersonal and time management skills. The Program Director must be capable of working independently and collaboratively and must work from a holistic, strengths-based perspective. The Director will have a passion for developing and empowering youth and communities through comprehensive programming and strong leadership and must have a commitment to work from a strength-based perspective. Must be culturally competent with the ability to understand, be sensitive to the needs of, communicate with and effectively interact with people across cultures.
In order to be considered, candidates must meet the qualifications below. In addition, candidates should have familiarity with social services and a variety of available community resources, a passion for community outreach, strong attention to detail, and excellent written and verbal communication skills. As well as the ability to develop and maintain relationships with participants, parents and the community and the ability to work flexible hours that includes some evenings and weekends.
Bachelor’s degree in Child Development, Elementary Education, Physical Education or Recreation or a related field with 18 credits in one of the listed fields required.
Minimum 2 years’ direct experience working with children under the age of 13 years including at least one year in a supervisory capacity in a childcare program.
Successful completion of required background check and security clearances.
